hiya muggy! i am sorry to hear about your mum.
i hope that she is better now... Hug
i expect you have finished Fatal Attraction now,eh?
i am still trying to get through Mercy....
it isn't one of those books that can be sailed through...but i am enjoying it nevertheless. even if the subject matter is a little depressing, it is a serious issue among a lot of people in the world today.
anyway, i am doing ok...the weather has been pretty good here for the last few days....my favourite kind of weather...chilly but sunny!
hope you are well...and have had a good weekend...
take care xxx Hug Smile

well, i dont agree with the people saying that the book club is commercialism or whatever. it's good to get people interested in reading, and it deserves the success it's had. and so what if it boosts the author's profile. i've read one of their books this year - how to talk to a widower - and i read two last year - the abortionist's daughter and my best friends girl - and i enjoyed them all. so i say it's fab. there's nothing better than reading a good book. and now they are helping out with kids books. it's all good. my best memories of childhood were some of the fab books i read, which i still own.

they stole my sig, my lovely sig!!!!

well said crazy chick!
i read loads of books when i was a kid too..and i want my boys to have the same enjoyment...
i do, however, say that it is part of the great commercialism thing going on..
well! who isn't in on that bandwagon...?
but quite rightly said..if it builds up an interest in reading, all the better for it! Big Grin

Razz Morning boysmama. Sorry I've been a while getting back to you but I've had a few personal problems over the past few days and haven't been able to get onto the Forum. Hope you're enjoying your weekend and the weather is better for you that it is here today. It's not cold but very blustery and with heavy showers. Yes, I've finished Fatal Attraction and am now reading Jill Mansell "Thinking of you". Very lighthearted and funny and am really enjoying it! Going out for lunch today so no "spud bashing" for me - lovely! We went to the same pub a few weeks ago and the food was gorgeous so giving it another try today. 31st Wedding Anniversary lunch - don't get for murder do you?
Hope your family are all OK, especially your little boy and that he's got over his operation. Enjoy the rest of your day. Regards. Hug Wave

Confused I'll have to start reading my posts before posting. Should have read "Don't get that for murder do you"? Just my warped sense of humour - don't mean anything by it. Speak to you soon. Wave

Couldn't agree with you more crazy chick! I feel really sorry for people who don't read - they don't know what they're missing.

i have finally finished Mercy...a good book...took me a while though...
i've got the Jill Mansell book...i may dig it out and read that...i love her stories...definitely light-hearted and fun!
the weather has been up and down just lately..nothing new there really..lol! Cool
it was reasonable today...but horribly wet yesterday...
we have had some wet n windy days and the odd sunny day too - we did manage to take the children to the park at least once last week..

i totally forgot to put clocks back yesterday...lol!
but the pc did it automatically...when i looked at the time..it didn't click..i kept wondering why it was an hour behind the clock on the wall!

Thumbs Up Hi boysmama. Nice to hear from you again. Personal problems are being resolved so I feel better about that! Yes, we had a lovely lunch thanks. The weather here today is gorgeous - can't believe it's the 2nd of November. I'm going to look at some sheltered accommodation in the village for my Mum today as she's not too well at the moment. It means she will be nearer to us if she needs us and also there will be a Warden there who she can call on if she has any problems. She'll have her own flat as well, so she won't lose her independence completely. We'll have to put her current flat up for sale but I'm sure we'll be able to sell it quite quickly if we market it at a fair price. You want to try Thinking of You, it's a lovely, feel good book and I'm really enjoying it. Hope all's OK with you and yours and that you have a great weekend. Take care Hug

Hiya Muggy! Hug
good to hear from you! Thumbs Up
glad you had a lovely lunch..
yes! the weather hasn't been too bade here recently, either! fresh and chilly with a bit of sun...not bad...we have had a few miserable days..but that goes without saying...lol!
i am glad that the personal problems are being sorted out....
it is great news for your mum too, i have always preferred the warden control flats...it is nice to retain the independence...but i do hope that she is feeling better soon.... Hug
be careful when selling! i hear the house prices are going down, so i am not sure if you will get it's full market value..but i hope that you do..your mum deserves it.
i will certainly read that book....once i have found it... Wink
i am about to celebrate my son's 5th birthday...tomorrow..
we went to a bonfire night tonight and he is going to his friend's party tomorrow afternoon..which may turn into a joint do...and we will be celebrating with our family too...i have just got to get his cake..
got his pressies on Thursday...a lovely excuse to go shopping... Big Grin
Sunday maybe a recovery day...lol!
hope you are keeping well,
have a great weekend.... Wave

Hi boysmama Smile
That latest Ruth Rendall psychological novel, now in paperback, "The Water's Lovely" is her best ever.
As usual set in London, her knowledge of all the streets and areas must mean hours spent pouring over/going to streets etc.
Such a good writer.
Smile

Wave Morning all, I haven't read any of Ruth Rendall's books yet. I mainly read Auto Biographys. Although I have read all of Martina Cole's apart from the latest. I have also read most of Lesley Pearse she is also very good. But I will definitely be trying Ruth Rendall Nod

hiya Muggy!! Wave
how are you doing? how are things with your family...is your mum any better..? Hug
how is it going with her flat?
i couldn't find my Jill Mansell book..so i am reading Cecilia Aherne "Where Rainbows End" -
it is ok...it uses pure dialogue to tell the story..no narration at all...it is an interesting way to write a story, i guess...
are you still reading Jill Mansell, or are you on something else now?
i can't believe that i can't find it..grr...
i will do soon though...that's for sure...
anyway, i hope that you are ok....
take care of yourself xxx

hi gaslamps! how are you doing?
how are you getting on with your book?
