I was rather dismayed to see that you had a lady on your show with a Dogue de Bordeaux which had had 16 pups. No mention was made as to whether they had homes to go to or if the lady was selling them. It seemed that this event was like someone giving birth to sextuplets and should be a source of inspiration and entertainment. I feel that in this day and age with the amount of unwanted dogs in the UK it was irresponsible for you to have this sort of thing on your show. Perhaps a counter point to this would be some topic regarding what happens to unsterilised unwanted dogs after Christmas and the efforts of many to avoid the same. I personally feel that the majority of pedigree dog breeders should be discouraged from continuing to produce breeds which by their very nature are purely a fashion attachment.

I totally agree with you. The emphasis appeared to be on how much money they were worth. This breed is being exploited left, right and centre leaving others to pick up the pieces. There are too many unwanted dogs and health issues arising from poor breeding to justify breeding from a pet.

Aside from that I would have thought that for any breeder the welfare of their dogs would have been paramount. Maybe someone can enlighten me as to how travelling across the country and showcasing a dam and her 12 day old pups in a TV studio can possibly be beneficial for them.
