The tasteless trio responsible for inflicting Paul Potts on us, are now about to launch a dancing dog.
This is R & J at its worst, mocking the animal kingdom for cheap entertainment.
Shame!!

Why pick on R&J? Crufts should have been banned years ago.

Crufts has a certain merit inasmuch that it helps to preserve the breed/strain/pedigree etc.

R & J's animal antics serve no useful purpose whatsoever other than their own enrichment and some viewers amusement.

Of course, I exclude the wonderful Paul from all this, goes without saying.

By the way, is Cowell capable of any originality at all? I've seen clips of his ghastly sounding new show, and the dancing dog was on a BBC show ages ago and the escapologist who gets trapped in a bag is a blatant copy of that clip from Chegwin's old talent show on Sky.

Maybe Dick and Jude could do a double act on Britains Got Talent - that would be fun.... |

Cowell and his smug, arrogance makes me want to puke every time I see his face. I enjoy talent shows but the show is ruined by him and those other two equally annoying twits Amanda Holden and Piers Morgan. So I give any show a miss that he has anything to do with.

How on earth has Piers Morgan got on? He is an odious, creepy, smug looking has been. What is his secret? Anyone have any clue?

I am sorry but I can't stand cherubic, angelic, singing kids.. puts my teeth on edge!
Charlotte Church, for example, is far, far more appealing now she's a raunchy, sexy, in-yer-face, voluptuous, young lady.
And Aled Jones has only become normal since adulthood.

Thank you for the welcome Amanda and Occasionally Spot-on - reading through past Threads this Rothger geezer seems a bit of a berk, glad to see the back of him. Let's just hope he doesn't get reinstated. Sometimes the Mods get it right.

Hmmm, don't get carried away Roth...... er Dixion. I think I remember now who it was you reminded me of... oh damn, it's gone again! Keep your nose clean and show due appreciation of Judy's hairstyles and you'll do fine especially if you can find something complimentary to say about Tricky Dicky.

I don't know whether it's me or not, but I don't think the standard, apart from, perhaps, the 12 year old girl singer, much above, if at all, mediocre.
How on Earth for example, did that 120 years old keyboard player even get passed the doorman/security?
It is a mystery known only to God.

Oh for a Rhydian!

I do not believe the result.
Obviously a mistake somewhere.
Probably to do with the 'phone lines.
Let us remind ourselves that the finalists were the outcome of 50,000 people who were auditioned.
Britain has not got talent.

As I don't watch anything that involves Simon Cowell, I can't comment on your analysis there, Dixion.

However, as Rothgar was always telling people who watched Richard & Judy through gritted teeth, "If you don't like it don't watch it!" Big Grin

What happened to the dog who danced to tracks by the Scissor Sisters ?

I can't believe how many people are against this hard working kid winning. He was brilliant and he tried and tried and never gave up.

Britain HAS got talent and I'm glad that a young boy has won, especially given the amount of bad press we see everyday about kids. If one of the singers had won or Escala, that would have been better (?) because apparantly those acts are more 'worthy' of the Royal Variety performance whereas young George isn't? If that's the 'great' British publics opinion of kids, is it any wonder the majority of them are doing what they're doing???

Can't say I agree! I thought George was great, and original and I LOVED Signature, again very original. The singing kids, Faryl and Andrew will do very well, already signed up by all accounts, the way forward is a lot easier for a singer than someone like George. I think you've lost your joie de vive Dixion, check with Rothgar if you see him, he might have it!

I expected more from 50,000 than a teenager prancing about and getting wet and emerging as top of the pile.
And I didn't like the constant, patronising linking to current social problems etc.
Nothing to do with it - talent is talent.
Or not, in this case.
Of course, Cowell is a berk and of course there is the off button.
Seems I have a lot in common with this rothgar geezer.

talent is talent.

I guess different people, in this case the majority of the people who voted George as the winner, have different opinions of talent as you and thank god they do because a very talented young man has been given the break he would not have got were it not for this show.

He wasn't prancing about, he was dancing and dancing well. If you think he was prancing about then surely that was all Signature or Nemesis were doing. And thinking along those lines, all Escala were doing were playing instruments they had trained for years to play. Faryl and the other singers were only using the voice that God gave them. If we think along those lines, then what exactly is talent? Is talent just opening your mouth and singing with a voice you've been gifted with? Is talent learning to play an instrument? Is talent the ability to make people laugh or is talent dancing (prancing)??

Just out of interest Dixion, did you like any of the acts in the final? And if so which one? And why do you think they were so talented? As I said, its just out of interest. Smile

Hi Scarlett (sounds promising!) Wave

I went to a school concert last week.
A 12 years old played seven instruments.

a. He could read music.
b. The instruments ranged from violin to clarinett.
c. He had a stage presence.

He would not have needed a sympathy vote.

Rather more accomplished than having a bucket of water thrown over your head, in my opinion.
Smile
