Was anyone else as sickened as me to see the programme about washing machines for dogs in the States? One of the women presenters seemed to think the dog was 'smiling' I thought it appeared to be frightened and trying to escape. Also I didn't care for Richard Mateley's reaction....laughter. Ugh!!!
I thought it looked very claustrophobic for the dog. Honestly, these people in Beverly Hills seem to have nothing better to do. I didnt find it funny, I felt sorry for the dog. And as for the doggie wedding, that was plain ridiculous.
Yet again, we witness the gruesome twosome's attack upon the animal kingdom. Ugly dogs, making cats look ridiculous by dressing them up as insects etc. etc. Give it a rest, R & J - try and promote respect for the wonders of creation...

Pleased to see, kin, you have now, apparently, mastered the ability to post to this Forum. Practice makes perfect - you may even progress to being able to navigate other sites.
Well I've heard it all now - would yer credit it, unbe - bloody - lievable
And you'd expect TRicky to be kind to dogs!! (Only joking).
Anyway - I don't believe it, didn't see it, don't want to know - and neither does my Che - his ear flaps have been glued down so he doesn't need to know, neither - scruffy hound, just revelling in his own muck. Like the dog he is
Hi Rothgar
I think you're the dogs bollox, I do (that's Turkish for fish). Hope you're well
Apparently Paul McCartney has now announced that he will never play a concert in any US washing machine until this practice ends. He will stilll, however, be touring major poverty spots, countries noted for sweat shops and centres of cocaine-related exploitation. Ruff!
I wonder what animal rights activists think of all this pooch pampering with the washing machine? Would the RSPCA care to comment, I wonder? Still I suppose the program could have been worse, with them featuring people who's job it is to clean up dog kennels and pick up doggy doo-doo for a living. Yuck! what an awful job that would be, to be forced to pick up dog doo-doo all day long. I really pity anyone that has to do that all day long.
From: The National Exposure - April 1, 2005 Headline News
'I was only filling up the washing machine!!' said Lucy Starkers, tragic murder victim, just before she died in hospital this evening. Her partner, Marcus Starkers came home last night to find their pet dog Fang in amongst Lucy's smalls his terrified eyes frantically entreating through the soapy suds.
'It was just about to go to high speed spin' said the clearly disturbed Mr Starkers. Driven demented by the plight of his faithfu hound, Marcus rescued the family pet - and they both gave chase. Starkers by name, Starkers in reality, Lucy ran off into the woods, where alas, the dog embedded his fangs in her buttocks, and Marcus ripped out her heart in a passionate frenzy.
'She put our precious pet in the washing machine!!!' he said, just before being forcibly removed to San Quentin.
Lucy's last words are reported to be 'I just wanted to give dear Fang a spring clean. Marcus has ripped my heart out'.
National Exposure - late edition - don't miss 'I baked my poodle in the microwave'.
Do they think at all when showing this type of material? if one person tries to copy this idea,it will be one too many, animals suffer enough without adding more ideas.

I didn't see the item.
Could you please explain what happened.
Was the dog put into the washing machine, and it turned on?
"if one person tries to copy this idea,it will be one too many, animals suffer enough without adding more ideas."
With all due respect David, this isn't a nanny state. That's a bit like when that stunt guy who chained himself up at the bottom of a tank of water, that was set alight full of flames and had so many seconds to get out. When he remarkably appeared unscathed without the slightest scratch on him, Richard then turned to the cameras and said, "don't try this at home folks."
People do have to be trusted to a degree of having at least a little common sense

Well what happened was that the dog (a long haired retriever) was put into a machine slightly bigger than the dog, water poured in from the upper left over the dog's back and head. At this point the dog was pawing at the sides and door(it was a silent piece of film) then it cut to the dog being let out havig been blown dry. One can only imagine the panic of an animal having water poured onto it in a confined space and there was no indication of how hot the air blowing was or how long it took, how noisy it was or how traumatised the animal was. ]
