Thanks boysmama. He wasn't too keen when I had to leave him (you can't stay with the animals at dog parlours, due to insurance) but when I went to pick him up 2 hours later, he seemed absolutely fine and apparently got on with the all the other dogs who were having their "beauty treatment". Unfortunately, he doesn't travel too well and it was a 20 mile round journey, so he was very pleased to get back to my house! He looks great though, she did a lovely job on him and it will be better for him and cooler now that the weather is warm. Enjoy your day!!

no, i just think that they and everybody else were having 'one of those days' yesterday...my boys have been ok today...
it was my youngest, who didn't want me to go to work yesterday morning..but no problems this morning...
the heat doesn't help, i suppose...not that i am complaining..i love the sunshine!
i am glad that your dog had a lovely time..shame he doesn't travel well though....

I've had lots of walks with the dog and also done quite a few jobs today, so I'm having a well earned rest at my computer. Still sunny here but there is quite a breeze - much better than rain though! Enjoy your weekend

I don’t know about under 25’s not being allowed to drive after 11pm… how about a new law where women had their own half of the car park so that they can't use the side of my car as a trolley stop or bumper tester.

I think the UK should introduce a car ownership licence. These are used in some other countries (often island nations) to limit the number of cars on the road.

We need to reduce the number of cars in the UK and reduce the amount of emissions.

Reducing the number to zero would be ideal!

That is pretty poor cost analysis.
You have to add the cost of replacing the tyres regularly, fuel, the capital cost of the car spread over its life time, insurance, road tax, car park costs, street lighting costs and other local tax issues.
On top of that you can add the environmental costs. Such as the land used for car parks, many of which will be empty at any one time, increased risk of flooding, reduced garden habits for insects (such as solitary bees) and birds so that the car can be accomodated.

Public transport is based on demand. If people use the car because it is convenient then the demand for public transport drops.

If you remove the car then demand for public transport will obviously increase substantially and more services would be provided.

Also expectations are to high and that is another damaging factor in the environmental equation.
