Just did a Google on car finance and, yes, very interesting. We're in Syed percentage land with some of the APRs eg 28.4 percent on one where it doesn't matter if you've been hanged for murder, have green hair, have a million CCJs, an advance for buying a car would be OK. Average credit card is say APR 6.4 Our bright business sparks didn't pick up on what they were really selling (neither did I)

I could be wrong but I don't think there is an Apprentice forum on here being as its a BBC 2 programme. Anyway I love the Apprentice. Where else can you watch a bunch of barking mad full of themselves idiots making a***s of themselves on the telly ? Brilliant !

Well spotted Thea/Rothgar!! I did do a particularly amusing post this morning, imho which was zapped, involving Sunny, Sky and Chantelle and their ma in my now defunct kiddies emporium, in a part-ex scenario, only loosely akin to the topic in hand (yes, really) - involving very expensive and overly flashy outfits from a certain (which I foolishly named) kiddies designer establishment commonly (!) seen around sink estates, for which parents sacrifice decent trainers of their own. The (lose) analogy (lose, like the voluminous frocks and coats of this bespoke designer kidswear outlet) was thus - whadya mean you won't give me a trazillion squids for this labelled yet somewhat faded and washed out garment, in exchange for a hefty percentage of your fair trade swanky bleedin frocks? Come on, Sunny, Chantelle, Sky - we're goin - NOW. I post this back up out of nowt but pique - and believe me it was funnier and seemed more pertinent the first time

More like 16%. Qualify the sale. Rule number one.

Thnx NugNug - my mistake, Barclaycard is 14.9% for example

....must say I was just thinking I was more shafted by my credit card company than I had realized - that's when I had a credit card - many years ago (when I had the swanky kiddies emporium) - and even then, a lot more than 6.4%. Actually - about 150% - I got the contract from a mate of Sayed.

OK Thea - you really got me this time I can't work out if this is a dead funny, surreal joke - some reference to the 'extras' on The Apprentice (the task, not the sidekicks). Or whether you really can insure your sofa for stains Are dog owners given penalties?

This was before dear Bertie came to lodge with us. In my case it was a kid who was discriminated against more than a canine. The culprit was a little girl who found and spread some red nail varnish over one of the sofas, the wall and the carpet, when she was momentarily unsupervised (while her mother and I were having a rare fag in the kitchen). As a result, one corner of the room looked like the scene of a chain saw massacre! I got in touch with the stain-guard company who had sprayed the sofa with anti-stain magic, to see if I could at least salvage the sofa, and they sent two little bottles of remover in a jiffy bag. When that didn't work, they told me I wasn't covered for that sort of staining (the wilful appliance of varnish by a minor) which I accepted, having finally deciphered the small print. Luckily, the house insurance paid out and we replaced the carpet and sofa - but 2 weeks before Xmas we coulda done without the hassle of redecorating. That's actually how we got Bertie - he's a guilt dog. Up to then, I'd been refusing to have another, after years of being tied down with dogs, but because the culprit was related to me, my husband played the guilt card and so I was persuaded to ring the breeder that night and reserve a pup. A few weeks later we travelled up to Grimsby and returned with a tiny bundle of black fluff who soon made his mark on the new carpet. But hey, that's what kids and dogs are for. It keeps the economy turning round, dunnit?

'Your small relative - evil spawn of Satan - has smeared blood-like stains all over our lounge. It's ruined the sofas!! So to make up for it, and to maintain an environment of spick, span, pristine dimensions, you must purchase a ...dog. Get on the blower, right now!' Was it something like this? Are you as barmy as me?

Anthea would keel over....... "It's sooooooooooooo important..." Last night she was seriously manic with a house-father. Last prog.
|
| |
|

|
...also, she's rather nasty with it... I naturally feel for people with problems etc. but as A.A Gill said, she is sooooooooo devoid of insight..... Last night was a master class in wrapping parcels.... This is what (and what SHOULD turn other people on) turns her on. Looney b*tch!!

I can't wait for one of the worms to turn:...
"SUGAR - You useless scruffy effer, YOU'RE effin fired, man!"

|

"..and that beard does NOT disguise your lumpy face!"

He was on with Wossy tonight. He's dead keen on Sayed - said he is 'brilliant'. That if you shook hands with him you'd better make sure you didn't lose one of your fingers, but he's an excellent salesman.
So, it didn't bother him then, the fibs and 'your car will sell for a profit in a few years time' or whatever bull he cobbled together. He really really likes him - his face lit up. 'Sayed'!
He's got a real soft spot - told ya so. Just like Saira - he loves the pushy ones. Mind you that doesn't means he hires them. He described Tim as the perfect apprentice, always ready to learn. It's the yes men he's really after.

...and he said his mate is pally with Barbar Windsor, and she calls him 'My Sid, reincarnated' and they showed a big pic of Sid James in the background looking just slightly lumpier than Sugar Lump - and Jon boy called him Sid, all cosy. Rothgar - nothing gets past you!

...and Ross nicked that from Harry Hill who was the first one to call Sir Alan "Sid" after Sid James..........which is where I picked it up... Harry Hill v. Jonathan Ross - fight fight fight

Did anyone see last night's episode ? I thought Michelle deserved to get fired. Mind you I think Syed deserved to get arrested for his blatant perving over that woman in the changing room What I would be interested to see, would be how long the eventual winner stays working for AS before he ends up firing them to. Would you want any of these "know nothing know it alls" working for you ?
|
| |
|

|
No. I wouldn't trust most of them to deliver me a pizza (although, if they did, I guess they'd give me quadruple pepperoni). Out of the ones left I suppose the Brummie woman is looking quite strong and Sugar was calling Syed 'brilliant' on Jonathan Ross last week, which made me despair!

I think Sam deserved to go, and he did. (It was Sam, wasn't it?). Handing our free water, apropos of nothing at all. And forgetting about the masseuse, who did the grey people's hands for want of anything bettter to do. And just generally for being boring, every week, unless he's swearing - marginally lessboring than boring.
Michelle was delinquent on duty, hanging around in the 'VIP' room , selling not a lot (was she still diving into the champers, or was that just the day before?). It's not very exciting this year though, is it? Sayed's the only one with charisma - so what, we're all stabbing each other in the back, what's the news? Or whatever he said, so (dis)ingenuously.
And your point is?
