Richard and Judy - your programme is often infantile and ridiculous but this time you have gone beyond what is accceptable.
The section of your programme - the 'Miracle Water' section was offensive in the extreme.
How dare you give this ridiculous man air time and very, very valuable advertising space when you will have many, many seriously ill people looking at that with such hope and expectation.
You have families with dying children watching your programme and yet you choose to show a man who dreamt he had 'treasure' under his tree. He must be laughing all the way to the bank thanks to the incompetent fool who suggested this should be included in your programme.
My husband watches you every evening and I have often found you both to be fair and relatively wise - but not on this occasion.
Please, please do not show such ridiculous sections of the money grabbing, greedy, duplicitious section of our society on your programme again.

Yes, I thought it was a valid item to have on this type of programme, whether you believe it or not. Though I can't see any information about the guy or his water on their webpage and I didn't catch his name.
I agree that claims of something - anything - facilitating miraculous "healing" ought to be investigated and people should always be sceptical about such claims. But that's what they said was going ahead, if I remember rightly - an analysis of the water and anything it may contain. It may just contain certain minerals in a particular combination that are good for joint problems, for instance, who knows? It may not. I don't think the guy in question made any claims for curing cancer, or anything like that.
As for Professor Chris French, he's the resident sceptic on these type of items. TV has been wheeling him out for years to provide that "rational" viewpoint and I'm sure he's well paid and in fact, usually has the last word. That it's the placebo effect, that it's all in the mind, that the testing procedures (if any) are faulty and so on.
You know, it's not unheard of for scientists and inventors to have dreams or "visions" about their discoveries or solutions to problems. It doesn't have to be seen as something supernatural.
I'm sorry you're so upset, Sooeyb. You have to take things with a pinch of salt. If the guy turns out to be a charlatan, maybe they'll do a feature on it.
I agree sooeyb, I thought just the same as you, what a good free advert he was getting for his product [he is bottling it,] is he going to give it away??????
I heard the guy being interviewed on a Sussex radio station last Summer and he seemed a genuine sort.
He didn't seem your average con-artist.
I've just tried to find his official website and haven't been able too. I think if he was just in it for the cash it would have been much easier to find.
Don't worry, I wasn't offended. I feel that when someone is ill they should try every possible treatment going. I prefer to do my relex on a volunteer, freebie type basis. I'm definitely not in it for the cash!
What's with this water person. Were they selling it?

I appreciate your irritation, but the above two comments seem contradictory. R&J are like a tabloid newpaper - contrary, cynical and opportunistic. And as for Chris French, well, being a professional sceptic is money for old rope - ask any first year philosophy student.

Indeed. Over the years I've never heard him anything really interesting - or address cases where studies have shown something anomalous is going on - that can't be explained. He has the same stock answers, whatever the phenemona in question.
Last night I posted a reply to Sooeyb, but it's been deleted
Chris French says: 'This is probably the work of a moderator. Or an electrical fault - there may have been lightning or something. I see no reason to consider anything supernatural as a potential causal factor. Posts don't just disappear without any reason. Sorry to disappoint, but you're dealing with a really bright bloke here. No flies on me. And, no, before you ask, I'm not trying to do an Alan Bennett impression - I always sound like this. Now, if you'll excuse me, I must get to Ghostie TV to disprove the existence of goblins'.

Ha ha, Diggy. You forgot, "Posts disappearing? It's probably fantasy on your part. The mind can play psychological tricks, you know".
