I've now watched "Devil's Experiment", which was utterly stupid. We know nothing about the main character, so are less likely to care what happens to her. Plus, if someone's having super-hot cooking oil poured on them, they're gonna go crispy and scream their lungs out, not go slightly red and whimper a bit. Lame, lame, lame!!

Also today I saw "Bunman: The Untold Story" which Dr_Gonzo_87 recommended earlier in this thread. It was really enjoyable. Halfway decent production values/editing/script. Gory, yes, but not really disturbing apart from one scene where the restaurant owner's family are slaughtered. I found that unsettling for the sole reason that either the three little girls are the best actresses in the whole of Asia, or no-one told them this was pretend. They look absolutely petrified throughout.

Am seeing "August Underground" tomorrow.

^It wasn't "August Underground" we had, it was "August Underground's Mordum", which is apparently the even sicker sequel. Good grief. Appalling camerawork, terrible lighting, ridiculous acting. They were trying desperately to be shocking but the opposite effect was achieved. This just looked like a goths' home video, and a really bad one at that. In equal first place for the worst film I've seen in the past year, along with "Devil's Experiment" and the remake of "The Wicker Man". Truly pathetic.

Our coming week's extreme viewing (copies on their way): "Schramm: Into The Mind Of A Serial Killer" (Jörg Buttgereit 1993); "Angst" (Gerald Kargl 1983) and "Visitor Q" (Takashi Miike 2001).

I just saw visitor Q andmust say it is exteme, sick, twisted, violent and pretty funny.

I can vaguely remember seeing a pretty nasty video about 20 years ago called "Anthropogus".

Low budget, probably dubbed film of the flesh eating variety.

Don't think I can even describe the worst scene without putting an image into your heads you don't really want.
