age certs are needed, essentially for the stupid folk who should never have had children in the first place, or so many 8 year olds would be sitting in that Terminator 3 cinema with or without their parents. lol. as a rough guide however they are usually a limited unclear look on exactly what a movie contains. yes, its a joke that sexual activity in a movie will always get the 18 certificate when you can physically do what they show legally at 16. either lower the cert or increase the age for the physical act! but proper censorship (deleting scenes, either sexual activity, voilence, or other content to please religion or the easily offended) is laughable in this day and age. if cinema is a true art then people should see a movie for how it was supposed to originally look.

In my house we never really paid attention to censorship, my dad usally made up his own mind as to what it was okay for me to watch.
Like a fat a guy at an all you can eat buffet life got in my way.

i dont believe in film censorship fullstop for adults, or banning either. However,i dont think we should let children watch 'anything' until they reach the age of 13 . Examples of the type of film i'm referring to are 'Henry portrait of a serial killer','texas chainsaw massacre','caligula'ect. So until we can regulate the influx of films properly. i would say that it is, an unnessersary evil unfortuneatly.
