Where can I find a list of films that have been censored? I thought I found one on this website, but when I click on the film name, nothing comes up. Shake Head

I'm preferably looking for censored films from the 1930's and 1940's (not Scarface though). If anyone knows of any, please let me know.
Also could you post if you know if Edward Scissorhands was censored at all?
Thanks!

Try the BBFC's website - you can search for a list of films between certain dates there, although for films from the 1930s and 40s, it'll probably only tell you whether they were cut or not, it won't have any details on how much was cut or what was cut. If you have any specific film you're looking to research, email them and they're usually very helpful about digging through their archive to see what was edited.

You might also want to try the Melonfarmers website - do a Google search for it, I'm not going to link it here as C4 have odd policies about putting links to such places in their forum postings!

As for Edward Scissorhands, all official releases in the UK were slightly trimmed to obtain a PG rating. I seem to recall the cuts occur as he's being beaten up at the end, he gets kicked and hit with a crow bar a few more times in the full version. The uncut version has been screened on TV before, but I can't remember which channel as it was years ago - possibly one of Sky's movie channels. If I can find my VHS of it, I'll check!

Spoke too soon...

Edward Scissorhands is showing up on the BBFC's website as having been resubmitted today - it's been reclassified as a 12 with previous cuts waived, so keep an eye out for a new DVD release!
