Lynch or Romero

Romero hands down. I wouldn't class them as similar film makers. Lynch likes to go for weird whereas Romero is more of a straight down the line type of guy.
Corporate Spies called John should be neutered.

At the moment I am watching a lot of Rohmer, but I could never choose an ultimate favourite. Mizoguchi also comes to mind, I never tire of 'Sansho Dayu'.

Alfred Hitchcock
You have three choices, run, hide or DIE!!!
Have you confessed?

Oh Gawd! impossible to choose just one:
Billy Wilder, Scorcese, Almodovar, Hitchcock, David Lean

David Lynch, followed by the Coen Brothers... but I do also have a soft-spot for both Wim Wenders & Gus Van Sant's form of minimal beauty (though I thought the latters 'Last Days' was pants and not a patch on 'Jerry' or 'Elephant').
----------------------- 'Titanic' review : I thought it faintly ridiculous the old lady viewing the wreck chucked that necklace into the water... I mean, she could've raised a fortune for the RNLI with that.

David Lynch by a long shot... but as a far as other more mortal directors go Miike is up there.

I've seen things you people wouldn't believe. Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion. I watched C-beams glitter in the dark near the Tannhauser gate. All those moments will be lost in time, like tears in rain.

Tim Burton has gone a bit down hill of late in my opinion... Planet of the apes and wonka both made my teeth itch, would like to watch nightmare before christmas 3D tho.
