Alrighty, so am not the most knowledgeable on this subject to say the least so i won't comment on the poll as only remember watching a couple of these films a few times socan't really cast my opinion but on your debate i'd have to agree that there seems to be some vagueness and confusion as to what 'Who da best' actually entails whether it be most prolific, most realistic, most horrific, and alot of other words ending in ...ic. Surely to get a wider opinion 'The greatest movie killer?' should be split into the above descriptions, though i doubt many will agree on the same person. Personally i've always been dsiturbed by some of Stephen Kings stuff, Pennywise the clown in particular. Cue the p*sstaking but hey, that's my opinion. Have to agree on a serious note, that anything which seems vaguely realistic can be even more harrowing.

Yeah i respect that you like bates and i don't mind you mentioning him all i have said is that i don't rate him, that dosn't mean he isnt worthy of the discussion.
Anyway who is this martin you were talking about earlier m8
I'm sorry if I got on my high-horse, but it's sometimes difficult to tell on these threads as to which forumers are having a laugh and which are just self-opinionated a*holes. As for 'Martin', it is possibly one of the finest films about Vampirism ever made, Martin himself probably not being an actual Vampire. It is a George A. Romero film and I highly recommend it. His body count may not be high enough for your tastes , but the deaths are quite brutal and psychologically it is an intense ride.

Yes Dr Haniable Lecter is the scariest, because he is not a mindless killer, he is really intelligent. For me there is nothing scarier than an intelligent serial killer, especilally one with penchant for eating parts of his victims.
Like a fat a guy at an all you can eat buffet life got in my way.

Martin is the name of the protagonist in the film of the same name made by George A Romero prior to Dawn of the Dead. Martin believes himself to be a vampire. What he lacks in fangs he makes up for with razor blades.
We're all here coz we're not all there

that is true because with freddy etc you know that they are not real but fantasy, however the ones that scare me are the ones thatcould actually be real and i could encounter

I chose pinhead because his deaths and his torture was just so gruesome and scary that it transcends the mere stabbings of jason and horrors of the mind like freddy . . . leather face close second because he was real.

Pinhead - in the first 2 Hellraiser's he was quite different from the other slasher movie killers and he had some of the best lines.
Jason annoys me
Freddy and Chucky are entertaining and funny. Especially Freddy. He is very campy.

Robert de Nero was scary in Cape Fear. This was because the situation was realistic. Revenge upon the guy who sent him to prison. The scary bit was him just coming back again and again. Characters with costumes and obviously unbalanced individuals I dont really find scary, scary.
