The original video nasty IMO. A landmark film for me and mine when we were growing up, and never did a man, a bath full of water, an angry woman and a knife come together so memorably than there.
If i remember rightly they made a blunder,perhaps on purpose i don't know, regarding the advertising posters and covers,it says "this woman has killed FIVE men and no jury will convict her",when there were only 4. Well acted and produced,very disturbing,could have been even MORE harrowing if LESS explicit.
They were both on the list at the same time,perhaps the oldest film is the early '60s H.G.Lewis splatter-fest BLOOD FEAST which when viewed as a kinda PLAN 9 is actually good fun. The covers were like a red rag to a bull, thinking of "SS experiment" "Cannibal Holoucast" and "Nightmares/Damaged brain" which also had a very bad taste launch promo.
I think it's a shame nasties like I Spit on Your Grave aren't in the running, they are the true "banned" films. Unlike the usual contenders like "Kids" which were never even banned, just delayed for a while.
I think the woman in this film has nice boobs. The film sucks big time. It is so little realistic that hurts. The rape scenes are just too stupid, lack credibility and seems more like a comedy. I think if the director ment to be shocking, he failed big time. Rape is ugle, brutal not necessarily violent as it could occurre while people sleep, but still this films to me is a big failour.

I actually saw this film a few years back. The rape scenes are horrific but the revenge scene is even better

Video 2000 actually promoted their release of "Nightmares..." with a 'Guess the weight of a human brain' contest.

I agree. I was looking forward to this one as it is one of the more notorious and well known video nastys. But the only thing nasty about it is the quality of the film.
