Going to France at the end of the year and when I have gone on other occasions I've always bought my Euros from the travel agent. Is this the best/cheapest option or can anyone recommend a better way of getting my Euros?

Thanks in advance

I went to Spain in October and found the rate was higher there than here, not sure if the same applies in France though

If you can be bothered, shop around on the net, (the Post Office, Travel agents, Marks & Spencer, Tesco, your Bank/Building society, etc). Make sure you check who charges commission, and who doesn't. Also, if you do a search on a search engine site, you should be able to determine whether the banks in France are offering a better rate. Hope this helps! Big Grin

Unless you are changing a great deal of money(£2000+) than I use use either the Post Office of M&S to change up your spending money.

Thanks for your advice all. M&S seem to have the best price but I'm amazed at how many banks and building societies - even the post office - don't show the exchange rate on their websites. Of those I've been able to check M&S seem to offer the most reasonable rate of exchange

if you get them from the post office do you not pay commission and when you want to change them back to pounds you dont get charged
