We are shortly going on this cruise and would appreciate advice from anybody who has been on this cruise (or similar), Jamaica (Montego Bay, Port Antonio), Cuba (Havana,Coco Bay, Santiago),Mexico (Costa Maya), Belize, Guatemala (Santo Tomas), Honduras (Roaten Island). What we are particularly interested in his shore trips-what should we try to see, - is it easy to get into town, see sites etc. without paying expensive shore excursion fees to the company? What currecies do we need. Any advice would be much appreciated.
I've done loads of cruises and one thing I can tell you about shore trips is that if you do your own thing, using local transport, rather than booking on board excursions, you will save loads of cash. I've not done the specific cruise you mention but one thing that has been consistent on every cruise that I have done, is that the cost of on board excursions is around ten times greater than doing your'e own thing.
