Help please! I am researching for a weeks trips to Sardinia in the last week of October. I am flying to alghero, but I cant decide which bit of the island to base myself. We are looking for somewhere quiet, but possibly with good local restaurant and bar and close to the sea.We are also interested in climbing!! any suggestions gratefully received!!

Alghero in October is pretty quiet and has some lovely restaurants and bars. Also you have many beaches around this area which are beautiful.

For climbing you may need to base yourself over on the east coast, maybe Cala Gonone which is has a lovely coastline and is 7km from the most beautiful mountains. Nearby is one of the largest gorges in Europe which is spectacular.

There are so many places to choose from it's hard to decide where to stay on such a lovely island.
