Very "third world" hassled a lot with beach and street vendors, shame as the real cape verdians are really nice people and trying to build tourism. Wouldnt recommend yet but would say its an adventure for a week but certainly not sufferable for a two week holiday!

I agree with Gel, it is not a great place to go, as yet.
We only visited for the day from a cruise ship and that was enough. Lots of middle aged women going around the shops and streets begging, some searching through skips. It was very sad but I wouldn't go for a holiday.
Wow I did this post 18 months ago and still hanging around! Never went in the end, went to Dominican Republic which was excellent, though like above you do get hassled alot if you leave the resort by shop keepers.
