Have anyone bought their train tickets in UK before they travelled in Italy? Last year, I bought these tickets (Venice to Florence) over the phone. The agent was great cos I paid only £25 for a return ticket and £3 for the reservation.

Can anyone tell me where they buy their tickets?

Thanks!

If the last time you bought them, they were so great, why don't you do it the same again? Confused

Good choice on Italy though, great country from knee to toe.

You could just by a walk on ticket when you are there.

Prices vary but the Italian rail website (http://www.trenitalia.it) shows the cheapest one-ways tickets for 18EUR so 36EUR return would equate to about £26.

I've done trains a lot in Italy and found the station ticket offices to be efficient, reasonably priced and usually English speaking. However, I once jumped on a train in Venice without a ticket and was charges 54 Euro's for a journey that had cost me 16 Euro's a few days before. So always have a ticket before getting on the train.

And you also risk a fine if you don't get it validated (stamped) by an automatic machine before getting on the train.

Thats right but it normally only applies to local services not Inter City
