Eat/ local Lamb
See/ the Laxey Wheel
Do/ walk on Snaefell(the only mountain on the island)
A great place to visit but don't do too much each day, we went for a week and found ourselves retracing our footsteps on days six & seven.
Depends what your interests are really... We visited a place called Jurby Junk---what a find if you like junk shops! It's in a hangar on a disused air base.
lots to do, what are you into?

Hi MiffyB, I can only say that we thouroughly enjoyed our visit to St Patrick's Isle -a ruined castle on a bit of the Isle which used to be cut off by the tide ( near Peel). Laxey wheel was interesting too cos I like old engineering stuff(East coast between Douglas and Ramsey).Any pub that has a few cars in the car park and is offering home made, local food should be good and if you believe in fairys visit the Fairy Bridge(A3 between Ronaldsway airport and Douglas)and be sure to say hello to 'the little folk'.
The Isle of Man was home to Britains first ever holiday camp-some 40 odd years before Billy Butlins got started!
Whatever you do be sure to enjoy yourself.
Oh... the weather is usually very similar to that of Yorkshire.

There is an extremly good museum in Peel that you have to visit!

castle rushdon (rushon?) is really good to.

tip:

if you find yourself on *shudder* the `lady of man` because the sea is to rough for the seacat, make sure you stay above deck. the first moment the boat lurched I left my seat and and stayed on top deck instead. seriously the whole lower deck was swimming in vomit when i went down, including a load of spatters on my seat. really glad I moved!

Oh my god! Melliemum you've just reminded me for the first time in over 25 years about the fairy bridge! I went to Isle of Man when I was a kid - must've been about 8/9. Great place and I had forgotten all about the fairy bridge and the minute you mentioned it I got this wonderful nostalgic memory! Thanks melliemum!

I live in the isle of man (true manxie woo)and i would say there are things to do for a couple of days, castle rushen, peel castle, shopping (not many shops but still ok) theres an old manx town cregneash that would be worth a visit. The best time to go would be TT week 2007 as its the 100th anniversary if it, so its going to be amazing! best year yet. even if you dont like racing you still have the fair, entertainment and amazing atmosphere for it
