Time we gave a bit of a shout out to our very own green and pleasant land, so exuse me while I take my hat of to the English tourist board for making a real effort with their site. Good to see they've got a finally got a forum set up.

I'm going to resist going abroad this year on hols. Just hope I won't get a nosebleed driving north of the Watford gap!

I travel around a lot with work spending the week away from my home and my Boyfriend. I travel all the way home most weekends but we often meet up in the middle. It means we meet in a place we have not been before and enjoy a weekend exploring a new piece of England.

I would highly recommend this to any couple whether a long distance relationship or not. We have not covered the entire British Isles but everywhere has its hidden gems best discovered together.

Hi Elizabeth. That is so romantic and such a wonderful example of how to keep a long distance relationship fresh and exciting.

I have learned from visiting various places within England the past few months just how beautiful a country this is. It is all too easy to get lost in the hustle and bustle of London and take the easy and admittedly sometimes cheaper option of jetting out somewhere for £19 return or something.

However, I have been to Dorset and Devon recently and was blown away by the scenery on offer.

I am in a long distance relationship too. My fiancée is an ocean away and I miss her terribly, but I can't wait to show her what England in particular has to offer.

Where has left the greatest impression on you?

Aviemore, Brighton, Cambridge..and so on...(the Isle of Man is a real gem but dont tell anyone as it will get spoiled if everyoine goes) we are working our way through the A-Z!!

Your camera is not enough to capture the entire trip.
The only luggage you really need is a toothbrush and something to keep you occupied on the train. Luggage is just baggage.
If you buy a ticket, book a room or order food the service must be honoured. We have meny stories, that are hilarious now, but are inevitable to just make sure you get what you ask for!
You dont need and umbrella or the right clothes for the job just a sense of humour to laugh at each other suffering the conditions.

I think Cambridge and the Isle of Man might be next on our list, but I like the idea of an A-Z of adventures.

Most of all, a sense of humour is always paramount. Things that don't go to plan are often the most memorable.

There are some points of the British Isles one stands and the impact of the surroundings is greater than the view alone.

Then along comes some three year old sticky child, an OAP with a zimmer, a couple of matching anoraks or some teenagers.

You know its a great place when none of these matter.

I totally agree. I have plenty of photos that are great reminders of places I have been in times gone by, but I do not need a tangible reminder when it comes to some of the experiences I've had on my travels. No photo could capture those.
