Going to Sharm in January. Getting confusing info on what currency to take. Some advise to take a mix of Euros? Dollars, and Egyptian Pounds. Any sound advice appreciated.
Assuming you are in the UK I took UK pound travellers cheques and some UK cash. Never had problem exchanging money. You need some Egyptian cash to buy your visa when you arrive, but you can change money at the same time as buying your visa. If you won't be leaving the Sharm/Sinai area you don't need a visa, but they won't tell you this.
The duty free shop in the airport did only take cash - any variety, but no credit cards accepted.
