Me and my boyfriend have booked a round the world trip for 6 months.
Thing is we both have credit card debt and my boyfriend has an outstanding loan. Would you advise it is best to clear off all your debts before you go ??
Probably sounds like a ridiculous question but there you go.

I travelled around Asia for six months with a bit of credit card debt (£1500) and didn't have a problem.
You will either need to set up a direct debit for the card company (presumably your boyfriend will already have one set up for the loan) or ensure you have someone you trust, possibly a parent, taking the money from you current account and paying the credit card company.
Of course, as you may not be working while you're away, or if you are it will be to cover the cost of travelling, you will definitely need the appropriate amount of funds left behind to cover the six months or so of repayments. Just save up like mad before you go!
