Can anyone tell me if it's possible to travel from Marrakesh to Fez by train? I'm trying to put an itinerary together without doing a package and wondered how easy it is to travel there independently. Is it possible to book a ticket online before I arrive? I'm going in June. Thanks
yes. I think there are about 5 trains aday and it takes 10 hours. not sure about pre-booking but give there tourist office in London a call. The webiste for morroccian railways is www.oncf.ma
I think it is fairly easy to travel around. I was just in Morocco - spent a week in Essaouira and a day and a half in Marrakech. Everyone on the trip agreed that it would have been wiser to have an itinerary where you visit a few different areas. We took a taxi to Essaouira - 2 hour drive for a about 100 Dirham each. Lots to do in Marrakech. Have fun!
