Anybody been to Moscow? I was suprised to see no posts about it? I lived there for most of my life, wondering what everybody thinks of it, did you visit GUM? Worst shopping centre I've ever visited.
Been there a couple of times for work in something like 1998 & 99. My hotel on the first visit was just 2 mins walk from Red Square, think it was a 5 Star, cant remember which name but an American President had stayed there once?
The second time I travelled to Moscow I just stayed in the Radisson (boring, no character unlike the first hotel)
Didn't really do a great deal as I was on my own and a bit dubious about being in such an unknown society (to me anyway), the Kalashnikov kitted guards at the premises I was working at was enough to put the fear of god in me!
I went in the winter for both trips but would love to go back in the summertime. Great looking city, worth going for the sheer size of Red Square alone with St Basils Cathedral (is that correct?) in the distance, beautiful sight

Red Square's like a theatre set - stunning. A place I think everyone should see.
GUM's OK but all big cities have their swanky shopping areas.
Moscow in summer is beautiful! Red Square is very crowded though, go early! Awwww Russian females are beautiful being one myself (No that isnt a big up to myself, glad you enjoyed it!)
