the malaria tablets can make you feel ill, altitude sickness can be a prob, and would strongly advise to take plenty of fast acting immodium capsules, be very careful what you eat and drink....
yep, and so you should be, got a flight from heathrow to madrid then on to Lima and then to cusco, the internal flights in Peru are pretty scary, the locals sit on board the flight praying, and when it lands they all applaud and cheer.......true I'm afraid, they buy old planes from other airlines.....and very old they are to....be afraid , be very afraid, but very exciting and a great adventure, and it's all worth it to see the sights of peru.....matchapitchu (sp?) is fabulous as is the train journey up to it too..... ps, a tipif you go, don't photograph or video any military you'll get chucked in the slammer...

Bumb7ebee, I went about 3 years ago. You don't need to take Malaria tablets unless you go into the Amazon bit. If you're doing Cusco and Inca Trail, then you don't need to. Mosquitoes don't live at high altitude.
The best tip for the Inca trail is don't take too much stuff with you. Anything else you want to know?
