They are lovely! St Mary's is where most of the action is, and is also a good centre for getting everywhere else. (By action I mean a few small shops you understand, not loud nightclubs). Tresco is idyllic and St Agnes also rather a favouite, but I have to admit you would exhaust all the actual sights within a couple of days. Be warned though the the Scilly's are pretty expensive - we reckoned that eating out is about double what it costs at home.
Thank you for your reply, don't call me shirley. I'm thinking stay on St Mary's and visit the others from there. I did kind of get the impression that it could be expensive from looking at the brochure, but at least there won't be loads of shops to spend money in. I'm really going for my mum's sake - she's always wanted to go there.
