Can anyone recommend somewhere cheap to go on a weekend break around europe for my best friend and I (both female).

The only European cities I've been to are Paris and Barcelona, and Barcelona was just a short visit

Paris is lovely, you can get a long weekend for around £130, and there's lots to do there

Prague is also supposed to be lovely with great nightlife and is very cheap: a while ago I found 3 nights B&B plus flights for £100

Budapest is good value for money, cheap compared to rest of Europe and has fabulous spa's

go onto the ryanair website and see where they fly to which interests you and then search for hotels in the vicinity

i too am looking to book a weekend break for myself and OH and another couple - was thinking of either Dublin or Amsterdam - anyone been, opinions appreciated?

I have just come back from Budapest with my OH - we had a fantastic time - would highly recommend it, however it does depend on what you are looking for in a break - nice hotel to stay holed up in or a bit of sightseeing too. We stayed at the Royal Corinthian Hotel 5* but got a really good cheap deal via Travelzoo (internet sight - worth a look at!) - flights for us both £130 return with Wizz Air a fairly new Polish Airline. people are very friendly and helpful and we found we could walk to almost allof where we wanted to go.. Amsterdam is great also but for me this was a drinking weekend with friends - although we did manage a couple of museums. You can book some cheap Marrakesh weekends - i have also been there and would deiniately recommend that - least at this time of year there'll be sunshine and warmth - the main square with all the souks is well worth it! Loads of options nowadays, too many to pick.

One of the classic Italian cities is always nice - Venice, Pisa/Florence, Rome.

And Berlin is also a good one, tons to do with a friend .

krakow in poland and prague are really nice and mega cheap!
