We would like to holiday in France next year-we would love a cottage cos we like peace and quiet. However we'd quite fancy a pool, but will an apartment complex be quite noisy?
What do you think? Any suggestions?

I would just think that if you were in a cottage (Gite) you would be more rural and need to speak the language more.

We were in a rural part of Spain last year where hardly anyone spoke English. We got by with sign language and a phrase book! We also realised how much French we knew when trying to get our message across!

Mm I think I would go for a cottage = no noisy neighbours, garden and even a swimming pool.

Thankyou. Probably the solitude! We could always go to the beach!

We rented out a three storey manor in the lake district, cost £400 and it was worth it, very quiet, seperate shower and jacuzzi bath. Really cosy with four poster bed with on-suite. Your own private riverside garden opposite a field.

If you pick up a brochure called 'Lakelovers' i recommend places in there.Wink
