wE ARE NOW APPROACHING THE FINAL EPISODE OF THIS SERIES!! The cast were great!! the promotion etc lack lustre many of us feel, as if the concept was being run down?
And also, would it be possible to have a very slightly more serious version, in which all the students were chosen who were clearly committed to the idea of the show rather than because they were going to get stroppy and play up the camera? And to dispense with the bias and inaccuracy of the voice over text?
Characters like Perry, from Series 2, and Mr Vince, were really engaging and got right into the spirit of the show (I choose them as examples but there've been other smashing teachers and pupils).
Because don't you think there are enough "My-God-aren't-kids-today-awful???' programmes on tv at the moment? TTE could rise above this tired formula and keep its unique and fascinating identity.
It appears that the series is over. In the briefing for producers I quote ...
quote:
My biggest priority at the moment is finding the next raft of peak-time series for history. Between July 2005 and July 2006, there are eight big history series: Escape to the Legion; Warlords; Wakey Wakey Campers; David Starkey’s Monarchy; Ian Hislop’s Not Forgotten; The Real Dad’s Army; That’ll Teach ‘Em and Niall Ferguson’s War of the World. We do not have the next eight peak-time series for 2007.
A previous briefing said that the series had run it's course. So it is likely we have seen the final That'll Teach 'em. The only chance of another series I guess is if there is great demand from International sales.
