i go to a girls school and trust me its gets really annoying when you keep having to play a guy, specially when its in front of the whole school, you dont half get some grief. i think its funny when boys play girls because they always make them so flirty, well i think it is funny any one agree?
well its hard to decide really.. i think sum people wud benefit frm the experience, but then agen.. sum peeps wud probably find it well humiliating! lol i personally have never had to play a male in an actual production, so i mite be rong :P
Gender is an issue in drama, you'll find that younger boys are definitely up for getting involved in drama, however older boys will be less so interested in it because it'll ruin their "street cred". In my experience with girls its the total opposite, usually younger girls are very hesitant about drama byt older girls are a lot more enthusiastic. And also there is the body image issu, if someone isn't confident in their body and their voice they won't even consider drama.
