Im 13 and I go to a really crap school (not just in my opinion, it really is) and after watching TTE i realised that if modern schools introduced some of the old fashioned techniques to discipline students then school would be a much more friendly and preferable environment. My deputy headteacher is always banging on about how he wants our school to be a friendly environment where it is easy to learn and thrive, but him and the headteacher and everyone else who could make a difference just arent bothering. I would much rather feel safe in the knowledge that my education isnt being disrupted by misbehaving pupils from all year groups. There are people from years 8 and upwards bunking on the school field and smoking, or taking drugs. This doesn't affect me directly, however nothing is done about these pupils who are ruining their lives. This means that more and more students are going to begin to follow their fabulous(not) examples. I think it's about time teachers stopped gassing, took their fingers out of their arses and actually did something about it!
You are young and idealistic, which is good, but when you are older you will understand that teachers have had their hands tied and that there is nothing really that they can do about this situation. Blame three decades of liberalisation for the (figurative) castration of teachers and the police.
