I think the producers have missed a trick in selecting the Head Boy and Head Girl. On last night’s programme they choose them from the original 29 classmates, but I think they should have instead brought in a Head Boy and Head Girl who were perhaps students who had just finished their A-levels to represent Sixth Formers. I wouldn't bring them in from the start so that the pupils were made to think one of them woud get the honour of Head Boy/Girl. The pair would be given real powers such as being able to impose lines and detention and would have a number of privileges (that would envoke feelings of envy) including:
1. Each having their own well appointed bedroom located near the dorms 2. The Sixth Form uniform comprising black blazer, distinctive tie, no hats, and the Head Girl would wear a skirt with nylon stockings/tights with court shoes rather than the gymslip/blue socks with sandals that the girls have to wear
They would not attend any of the lessons in the programme, as they are not part of the boys versus girls experiment, but simply there to impose order. How would the pupils respond to the orders of them as opposed to a teacher?
