Don't axe the series, I'd really like to see another. "Please sir, can we have some more?"
**************** - It is spelt definitely, not definately, definatly or in any other equally weird ways - It is would/could/should HAVE, not would/could/should OF.

I have found this current series and the second very interesting to see what school life was like back in the 1950s and 1960s. I dont recall watching the first series but I think they should definitely do another series. No two series will be the same surely? Lovin your work!!!!!!! I dream of Nick Beggs and the 80s

Not exactly collect-but I've got some of them and once wrote an article on the Rex Milligan books.Even once met Eileen Buckeridge and corresponded with her husband. If you live in or near London, would you be interested in joining a club for school story enthusiasts-more Bunter than Jennings?

If they ever did bring back That'll teach 'em they would have to find another way of choosing the pupils as it seemed from this series the pupils had too many preconceptions of what to expect. As a result they came prepared with their own agenda.

Sadly I missed the last episode of That'll teach them my Mum died and I was at her funeral that day. I hope they will repeat the series because I would willingly sit through all of it to see the outcome. It will be a shame if something of the same is not produced. I was there then so know how different school is today from having three sons who went through the modern schooling. Two whom went to an all boys senior school and the youngest to the same school that had become a co-ed streeming school. He did well dispite this thankfully but others didn't because they were distracted by the girls, becoming very macho to make an impression, which disrubted the lessons for the other students. There was far more trouble in the school after that.

I've been away from the forun for a while. Any developements regarding a new series??
It's great to know that there are so many modern youngsters willing to voluteer to to give up their summer holidays to put themselves through such rigid regimes.

I don't know whether C4 are planning another series but they ought to realise what a popular thing it has been when the BBC pay them the complement of copying the idea. Not with a school this time but a load of 12 year olds going back to the forties as evacuees! They are on a Norfolk farm!

I don't know that the evacuee idea is all that authentic. Not too many were sent in large groups and put to work on farms as they are in this programme. Most were housed in ones or twos with ordinary families and I don't think too many were made to work outside school hours.
