Good grief! How much is conservative central office paying you? You could at least blend in a little and not sound so much like the paid "researcher", i.e. PR person, you so obviously are. I could do a much better job for half the price !

What's the message then? I'm afraid I don't have time to listen to 20 mins of a politician waffling and talking in soundbites. Did he actually get down to saying anything specific instead of talking about general "principles"? The conservatives seem terrified of revealing their policies either because they lack them or they think Labour will nick them .

Perhaps if the Conservatives said "we will get rid of all the measures that NL has perpetrated," (shoot to kill/detention without trial being just two examples), then they would get some support. (Which, believe it or not, is crucial to win any elections). I think that Blair Labour are getting a bit rattled when you get Blair jetting off to the other side of the world to avoid the opposition, and awkward questions. I bet that non stories, such as bird flu, will get prominence from now on, as our hospitals fall to bits, dental care goes into chaos and our local services are "regionalised", without our permission by an out of touch and out of gontrol adminitration. If the tories attack all these things, I think they will be in with a shout, if they ape "Blairism", they will be treated with as much contempt as NL, and they will deserve it. They have a good chance only if they have the nerve to OPPOSE!!!
