Now I know that many people on here will think that this is a wind-up but in time you will see that it is not.
I have finally escaped from the "doom site" and bought a 3 bed detached house in one of Phil and Kirsty's Top 10 places to live in the UK. I dare not say where for fear of reprisals from my army of ex-adoring fans on said site.
However, here I am. A homeowner. I hope you will forgive me for past indiscretions but it was only because I wanted a house so badly. I think I'll start by making a post on the washer-dryer thread.
Finally, the Monkey has come back to Channel 4 Homes!
A combination of the other half, the fact that we had to move out of ridiculously cheap rented accommodation (with no bills) and that we had created our own house price crash by never going out for 3 years and saving every penny we had for a deposit. Also, the right house in the right place at the right price became available.

Congratulations Monkey!
You are now on the ladder to wealth, health and success.
Looking forward to many inspired Monkey posts regarding washer-dryers, glass splash-backs and removing stains from carpets.
Thank you everyone for your kind words. And with regards to Portent's question - I have more than enough strudel to serve the local area although I will have to be discreet about it due to the high-class nature of my new neighbourhood. I can't just go shoving my strudel in people's faces.
